

An Erasmus+ Sport project uniting partners from Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy to create sustainable, inclusive sports education for children aged 6–13.
The GFuture project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Sport programme, officially began in December 2024 and will run for 18 months. Led by TREND-PRIMA (Slovenia), the project brings together partners from Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy to promote green education and inclusive sport methodologies for children aged 6–13, with a special focus on those with learning disabilities
About the Project
GFuture addresses the challenge of increasing physical activity among young children while also integrating environmental sustainability into sports education. The project will:
- Develop a Research Report & Policy Recommendations on the needs of primary school children in relation to green learning and sport.
- Create a Handbook of Green Education & Sport Methodologies and a Guide of Sustainable Sport Best Practices.
- Organise sport events and outreach activities in schools, reaching at least 40 schools and 120 children across partner countries.
- Train 240 volunteers, teachers, and youth workers through workshops and online courses, with special attention to participants from rural areas.

In preparing the report, we collected feedback from coaches, teachers, volunteers, and parents from the partner countries.
The survey results present findings on the current situation, attitudes, and participation of children in primary education in physical activities and sports, with a special focus on the development of green learning and sustainable sports.
